Electric Pocket let me know that they have launched their latest BlackBerry application called Twitterlerts.

Twitterlerts helps a user monitor Twitter by automatically scanning it for the chosen topics, alerting the user to important changes, and letting them tweet or share tweets right from their BlackBerry.

“We think Twitter searching has a lot to offer both businesses and individuals, and is an ideal way to use Twitter when mobile,” says Iain Barclay, Electric Pocket’s Chief Product Officer. “Twitterlerts makes it really simple for our users to track topics that matter to them, and our unique alerting feature means they don’t miss out on timely access to important information.”

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a public update about the BlackBerry Twitter application known as SocialScope.

If you’ve been lucky enough to snag a SocialScope invite then you know how awesome of a Twitter application it is. Sometimes there are many updates, sometimes they are spaced out. When there is an update though, it usually brings with it some bug fixes and new features.

This update, however, will be totally different as it will include a major upgrade to the user interface along with some other nice additions:
