Alerio, the same person who made the  T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 8520 unboxing video I posted about yesterday, now also has a quick video review.

Just a reminder, Alerio was lucky enough to get the Curve 8520 from Walmart before it’s official release, which is tomorrow August 5th. If things go well, you should see the T-Mobile Curve 8520 page update soon after midnight, allowing you to purchase this BlackBerry.

Who’s planning on getting the Curve 8520?

One lucky T-Mobile customer was able to snag the new BlackBerry Curve 8520 at a Walmart store for $48.88!

The Curve 8520 is not supposed to be officially available until this Wednesday, August 5th. Over the weekend I posted about the Curve 8520 already being up on the T-Mobile website, shown as “coming soon”. If one Walmart store could slip up and sell the Curve 8520 before they were supposed to, I’m sure there are a few others that will be making the same mistake (unless they hear about this haha).

If you happen to get one of these before Wednesday let me know in the comments!

Just got an email tip with information about the T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 8520’s launch!

The Curve 8520 will be launched with an Optical Trackpad and is meant to replace the T-Mobile Curve 8320. It will launch August 5th for the following:

  • Retail (stores)
  • RPS
  • Walmart
  • Employees
  • Upgrades (after 10 a.m. PT)

Top features:

  • Full QWERTY keyboard
  • Optical Trackpad Navigation
  • Wi-Fi and Mobile Calling
  • Personal and Work E-mail
  • SMS, IM and Social Networking
  • BlackBerry App World

Still no official pricing info yet but I’m working on that ;-) . Who plans on getting the Curve 8520, especially since it’s meant to replace the Curve 8320 for T-Mobile?

That Optical Trackpad sure does look nice.

Viigo Alpha for BlackBerry has been updated to version 3.1.324.

The obvious change that I noticed is that there is now a “Deals” service where you can get the latest deals by store or by category. I’m sure there are also plenty of bug fixes in this update too.

Browse by Store so far includes 6th Avenue, Abe’s of Maine, Amazon.com, B&H Photo Video, Best Buy, Buy.com, CompUSA, Dell, Geeks, JR.com, NewEgg, OfficeDepot, Overstock, PC Connection and Walmart.

Browse by Category so far includes Cameras and Camcorders, Computer Accessories, Computer Storage, Computers, Flash Memory, GPS Navigators, Games and Consoles, Home Theatre and Televisions, MP3 Players, Printers, Security and Nanny Cameras and Webcams.

Viigo Alpha is still in its testing stages so you may find a few bugs here and there. Since this isn’t a production release install at your own risk!

You can download Viigo Alpha by going to getviigo.com/alpha from your BlackBerry Browser. Don’t forget to let Viigo know about any bugs or suggestions through the “Feedback” option in the application itself, or by leaving some comments here.

t mobile roadmap 0609 BlackBerry Gemini 8520 coming to T Mobile August 5th?

Engadget got a leaked roadmap for T-Mobile showing a bunch of phones listed, including the BlackBerry Gemini 8520.

There is no launch date listed in this roadmap but TmoNews is saying they have their own showing a tentative August 5th launch. An earlier rumor shows a Walmart roadmap with a July launch for the Gemini 8520.

With July being less than a month away I guess we’ll find out which rumor was right, if any. Check out the full features and specifications for the Gemini 8520 if you want to know more about this BlackBerry model.

BG was sent an internal T-Mobile roadmap for Walmart showing the BlackBerry 8520 “Gemini” launching in July of this year.

This is a bit earlier than the previously reported Q4 launch of the Gemini, which is great for anyone who is looking forward to this BlackBerry. The initial pricing is $78 with a price drop to $48 a few months later (according to BG).

Which new T-Mobile BlackBerry will you choose, the Gemini or the Onyx?

Get a free BlackBerry Bold with a contract from Walmart!

walmartfreebold Get a free BlackBerry Bold with a contract from Walmart!

This is no joke. Apparently Walmart is offering the BlackBerry Bold 9000 from AT&T for free after a mail-in rebate of $199.99 from LetsTalk. Mail-in rebates are tricky because A LOT of people forget to mail them in, and by the time they realize it it’s too late. So if you get a Bold through Walmart with the LetsTalk rebate…MAIL IT IN ASAP.

It seems like a pretty awesome deal, but Baseer made the following comment over at Engadget:

walmartflip8220 BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 Only $49.99 at Walmart!

I was reading up on some news and I found this! Some other sites have this and mention the price of $99.99, but when I checked it out it was only $49.99 with a new 2-yr service contract after rebates. The red 8220 is also available but is currently backordered and has an ETA of November 11, 2008.

Check it out!
