The United States Department of Defense has given its approval to the secure workspace concept from BlackBerry. STIG’s approval now means that DOD employees are now allowed to use Android and iOS phones and keep them connected to the BES 10 EMM solution of the company. This approval serves as a testament to the security capabilities of BlackBerry. Sensitive data transfer on the third party devices is now much more secure. The adoption of this Secure Workspace means that BES 10 protocols such as data-in-transit and data-at-rest are also extended to Android and iOS devices, ensuring that sensitive data remains secure through unreliable channels.

The STIG approval is welcome news for government employees. This will bring about a highly open mobile environment and a greater selection of OS and devices. BlackBerry’s secure workspace is the need of the hour for both government and the enterprise customers. Currently, BlackBerry is the one and only EMM provider in the market that offers a secure multi-platform environment. BlackBerry 10 is robust enough to get through the strictest of requirements, while there is also the flexibility of being able to use it on any device. Choice of device is no longer a restriction.

Currently, BlackBerry is the first choice of mobile solutions provider to all the G7 governments. All across the globe, an increasing number of governments are adopting BlackBerry devices. With certifications from over 50 different countries, BlackBerry is the worldwide leader in providing secure Enterprise level mobility management. The BlackBerry 10 operating platform is the only one to have ever received the FOC or Full Operational Capability certification. The FOC certification is a pre-requisite to use your platform on DoD networks.

BlackBerry is on a resurgent upward spike. The BB 10 operating system and the BES 10 platform are looking to put BlackBerry back on top in the market. A large number of enterprise clients prefer BlackBerry’s award winning Enterprise Mobility Management smart solutions. Since the time enterprises have adopted BYOD and similar policies, BlackBerry has been a revolution in data security and protection. BlackBerry’s revolutionary OS, BB 10, has been the catch phrase for every IT admin in the corporate world. As is widely known, BlackBerry was the original inventor of the Smartphone technology. Even today BlackBerry is constantly in motion to push the boundaries of existing mobile technology further.

More than the enterprise and corporate clients, BlackBerry has always enjoyed the patronage of the government. BlackBerry devices were the preferred choice by government officials around the world. Data protection and device security needs are paramount. The success of the revamped platform depended heavily on the being able to continue this relationship with the clients from the government. BB 10 and BES 10 have seen resounding success in that aspect. You just can’t get enough of the new platform. Exciting features like the BlackBerry hub, are a bonus to the much talked about security features. BlackBerry has now taken this a step further, with their presence across multiple platforms.

BlackBerry’s workspace applications will now add teeth to the existing applications. The government clients are a lot more likely to adopt the BlackBerry platform now. BlackBerry is all set to get back with a bang.
