Video: Dead Space By Electronic Arts On The BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet!

A few days ago I let you know that EA launched Dead Space for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. As promised, I’ve put together a hands-on video of Dead Space which shows you the main menu, options, achievements and gameplay with a bit of everything. This game looks so good about five minutes into the video I stopped to remind everyone that it is being played on the PlayBook. While there are many BlackBerry fans there are probably just as many bashers that weren’t expecting this so I had to throw that reminder in there Video: Dead Space By Electronic Arts On The BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet! . This is the first game of its kind to launch on the PlayBook and I’m sure we’ll be seeing more now that EA has led by example.

Check out the video below and feel free to let me know what you think in the comments or in the forums. Go Team BlackBerry!

Electronic Arts Launches Dead Space Game For The BlackBerry PlayBook!

Electronic Arts Launches Dead Space Game For The BlackBerry PlayBook!

Electronic Arts (EA) just released one of the best and freakishly awesome games I’ve ever played for the BlackBerry PlayBookDead Space!

I’m always on the lookout for a great game to play and was actually a bit late to the Dead Space party but when I started to play it (for Xbox) let me tell you as a gamer, I would have been on line for this game’s launch if I learned about it earlier. While I was at New York Comic Con last year EA was there promoting Dead Space 2 with a guy geared up as Isaac Clarke, armor and all exactly as it’s seen in the photo above. The game was so awesome I waited to get a picture taken with the costumed EA “mascot” but never got the chance because he was so busy with other Comic Con attendees. Ok…back to the PlayBook game. Here’s the official description:

This stunning vision of the Dead Space franchise reproduces the cinematic horror of the console game with rich effects and atmospheric lighting. Experience the hardcore gameplay as you struggle to survive the Necromorph onslaught in 6 varied environments. Access the Plasma Saw and Core Extractor, plus 3 more weapons from the Dead Space universe – then get on with the business of strategic dismemberment!

Dead Space is now available for $9.99 in BlackBerry App World. I can’t comment on the gameplay now since I just downloaded it but if it’s anything remotely similar in terms of gameplay and quality to the Xbox game, it’s probably a really good game. I’ve included the game’s trailer along with a funny “Your Mom Hates Dead Space 2″ video below so check them out.

I’ll put together a demo video of the gameplay but for now feel free to get it and let me know how you like it in the comments. I can’t wait to see what other games EA releases for the PlayBook.

Wikitude Goes Social With BBM 6 Interact With & Find New BlackBerry Messenger Contacts With Augmented Reality!

I’ve mentioned Wikitude a few times here on BBRocks.com since we found out about their integration with the BlackBerry 7 OS for the upcoming Bold 9900. Today they let me know that their app is now BBM 6 connected and will offer a new way for BlackBerry users to interact with their contacts through BlackBerry Messenger and more. From their announcement:

Wikitude contains hundreds of different examples of how AR can enrich location based content experiences including travel sights, mobile coupons, games and more. With BBM 6, Wikitude now boldly goes social by offering its users to interact with one another in a way they have never done before. BBM in AR allows you to find your friends and chat with them on the go. You choose who you want to share your location with – whether anyone in the BBM community or just your BBM contacts. Meet new people or chat with your friends while having a real sense of where they are in reference to you. If you prefer to stay under the radar for a while, you can of course disable your location sharing any time, you decide.

So next time you’re trying to meet with a BBM friend in a crowded area (or want to make some new friends) all you have to do is open Wikitude and “browse” around Wikitude Goes Social With BBM 6 Interact With & Find New BlackBerry Messenger Contacts With Augmented Reality! . For more info watch the video demo here, check out RIM’s press release for BBM 6 here or go to wikitude.com. I’ve also included Wikitude’s full announcement on their BBM 6 integration below.

Demo Video Of The BlackBerry Bold 9930 Shows Up On Verizon Wireless Website!

I’ve already shown you a BlackBerry Bold 9930 with a Verizon Wireless splash screen and even a Google Ad that gave away the device but if you’re still not convinced, Verizon “accidentally” published a demo video of the new Bold to their website. The video shows up on the Bold 9650′s product page under Demos and Videos, Explore Features. Blake (the guy in the video) goes over the Bold 9930′s features, all of which we already know about. RIM is expected to announce more details for BlackBerry 7 devices tonight so let’s hope everything goes official!

You can check out the video at Verizon Wireless’ site under Shop > Bold 9560 > Demos and Videos or watch it below if they decide to remove it.
