RIM is using its whole bag of tricks in order to ensure the success of its upcoming BB 10 smartphones. It is very much apparent that success of BB 10 new smartphones models will decide the future of this tech firm. Therefore, RIM has decided to keep its fingers on the pulse of latest cutting-edge technology. Failing to do the same earlier, RIM lost a significant market share to its arch-rivals like Cupertino based tech giant Apple and Samsung.
In the wake of growing popularity of social networking websites, it has become extremely important for mobile phone manufacturers to ensure better synchronization of apps with leading social networking websites such as Twitter and Facebook.
Research in Motion has understood this well and is now all set to offer BB users with much convenient way of tapping the public profiles of their contacts. These new devices will include features like blogs, tweeting, mails, etc.
A new feature to be included in BB 10 devices, namely contact management, is capable of extracting contact information from social networking sites onto a single page of Blackberry. This feature will find its way in forthcoming BB 10 devices, which are scheduled to release around Q1, Jan 2013.
According to TA McCann (CEO of Gist), Blackberry carries a legacy of productivity but it needs to revive itself, which is possible through upcoming BB 10 devices. TA McCann is a developmental head who is responsible for leading his team. He is indulged in developing the BB Messenger app and contacts for new BB 10 smartphones. A company called Gist was founded by McCann and was bought by RIM in the year 2011. McCann excitedly revealed that new BB 10 smartphone owners will be able to make the most of Gist’s pioneering ideas related to contact management.
McCann stated that in-built apps for contacts on Blackberry 10 will accumulate all contact info, updates related to status and contact meetings in a single place. This new contact management feature is also capable of extracting any latest updates related to users’ Facebook and Twitter contacts.
McCann added further that some of the features created in contact management have already found a place in the latest version of BB 10 OS, on which PlayBook tablets are running.
If we take a glance on the history of RIM then undoubtedly, the journey of RIM has been a wonderful one since its inception and the company has seen many ups. Run-of-the-mill downturn was triggered by company’s laid back attitude as it did the biggest blunder of resting on its laurels and more than that, when it didn’t look for ways to sustain its position and didn’t pay attention to timely adaptation of technological changes, the condition began to deteriorate.
RIM has great expectations from the unreleased BB 10 smartphones, which will be powered by their brand new OS BB 10. These new smartphones are being expected to take the experience of old Blackberry smartphones to an advanced level.
