Blackberry Officially Unveils the Super Sized Z30

The Blackberry Z10 is a great device, but a lot of other manufacturers are busy increasing the size of their handsets. Blackberry on the other hand has been focused on making them smaller, or maintaining a manageable size. It leaves a little something to be desired for anyone that prefers a larger device. Fret no more, for Blackberry has finally unveiled the much larger Z30!

That’s right folks, it’s even bigger than the Z10- as the name implies. It sports a 5” Super AMOLED display, and is powered by a 1.7GHz processor with a quad-core graphics chipset. At launch, it will be running the latest version of the Blackberry 10 OS, version 10.2- whoo hoo! Not to mention it will also be equipped with a 2880mAh size battery, which Blackberry claims will enable the device to truly last for a full day. We all know the story with batteries though, so we won’t hold our breath until we actually see it out in the real world.

Through the combination of stereo speakers and the unique “Natural Sound” technology, the device will also offer HD quality sound with little to no distortion- not that there ever was. Blackberry also mentions a new antenna technology that will help the device see faster download and connection speeds, and better signal in various areas of the world.

The Blackberry Z30 won’t be available in the States until holiday season. However, if you like in the UK and the Middle East you can get your hands on one of these babies starting next week! Of course, only select retailers will carry the handset so you’ll probably have to track them down before showing up.

The BlackBerry Z30 smartphone will roll out from select carriers and retailers around the world beginning next week in the UK and Middle East, and all other regions going into the holiday season. Specific pricing and availability will be announced by partners at the time of their respective launches. A variety of accessories including cases and chargers will also be available.

Subject to carrier approvals, BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.2 is expected to be available for the BlackBerry® Z10, BlackBerry® Q10 and BlackBerry® Q5 smartphones beginning mid-October.
