Blackberry Classic Arrives By November

It has been ages since BlackBerry announced the arrival of the BlackBerry Classic. Release dates were never officially announced. All the eager BlackBerry enthusiasts, who have been waiting for news on the BlackBerry Classic, are now relieved.

The BlackBerry classic is nothing but an enhanced and updated version of the BlackBerry Bold. The ‘Bold’ was probably one of the most successful BlackBerry products to hit the market. The device is touted to be similar to the Q10 device incorporating a touch screen and keyboard. In essence the BlackBerry Classic will have the trusted BlackBerry features along with a few choice additions to attract the modern Smartphone user. CEO John Chen made an announcement recently that the BlackBerry Classic might hit the market sometime this November. A comprehensive server support will accompany the launch of these devices.

The enterprise server infrastructure will also provide support to iOS and Android devices as well. This can only imply that the new products are going to be high on device architecture. Considering all the features that are due to come out, the long wait for the new range of devices would be greatly justified. The device has been in the works so long, that it has changed its device designation so many times already. The BlackBerry Classic started out being the BlackBerry Q20.

In retrospect, the launch date might be timed almost perfectly. Come November, several of the Z10 devices will be nearing the completion of their contract terms. This will be followed shortly by the Z30 and Q10 devices. The arrival of new devices in November will serve to sway a few existing customers as well to the side of the BlackBerry Classic. BlackBerry’s recent performance in the Smartphone has not been satisfactory. The introduction of these new devices can usher in a small catalyst that might just serve to invigorate BlackBerry’s market standing.

The success of the Apple iPhone has largely been due to its simple design. The design has managed to attract users over a large age range. The minimalist design has a lot of takers even now. The same goes for the ‘Bold’ design of the BlackBerry. Just a few years back, every third person you met had a BlackBerry ‘Bold’ with them, Business users and casual users alike. The old BB devices may have died out, sure. However, their appeal among enthusiasts still remains the same. This may have been the major contributing factor towards BlackBerry’s interest in coming out with the BlackBerry Classic.

All the well loved BlackBerry features such as the keypad and data security and reliability now come hand in hand with the new BlackBerry 10 OS. The touch screen option may just prove to be a master stroke. This move also serves to satisfy a particular section of the large existing user base who reportedly find the new OS and devices to be too much of a radical approach to their beloved BlackBerry. This particular section of the user base will most certainly respond positively to this move. What the BlackBerry Classic does in the market is something that can only become clear post launch in November.
