Level 1 alert notification is one of the most popular features of the BlackBerry OS. This feature allows a user to set up rules for superseding existing rules. In this way, you can customize your notifications irrespective of the current setting. Level 1 alert notifications are displayed in red, and so are difficult to miss. You can set up your own criteria for alerts such as notification of receipt of a high importance message.
If you use the 10.2.1 version of OS 10, then fret not. BlackBerry has extended the feature to the latest version of its mobile operating system. For enabling this feature on your OS 10.2.1 version, first of all you need to activate the BlackBerry Priority Hub feature. After enabling this feature, you can go ahead and set up new rules for receiving notifications.
Following are the step by step instruction for setting up personalized Level 1 Alert system:
1. The Push icon for More followed by Setting icon to access Priority Hub.
2. Tap Add Rule to get various options. You can add a name to your rule by entering it in the Filter Name field. However, you should keep in mind that once you create this rule, you cannot alter the Filter Name without deleting it first. However, after deleting the undesirable Filter Name, you can re-create the rule with a new name.
3. You need to specify the account for which you want to create new alert rules. Again, Account cannot be altered without deleting it first. So be careful until or unless you are ready to go through the process of deletion and recreation of the account.
4. If you are willing to set up an alert for priority mail received from a particular email address, you may do so by entering a subject in the Subject Field. Similarly, you can set the alerts on the basis of From, Sent to, Sent Directly to Me, CC to Me and Importance criterion. When any of these criteria are met, you will be alerted with a Level 1 notification.
5. Tap Create button to save these rules. Create button is located on the top right side of your screen.
6. You would need to select the Enable Level 1 Alert check box in order to set a level 1 alert. Tap Save to finish the step.
BlackBerry also lets you customize your alert notification system. You can change the sound and tone played on receiving the alert. Alternatively, you can set the alert system on your phone to vibrate. These settings can be altered by following Settings, Notification, and Level 1 Alert steps. In order to save your new settings, you will have to press the Back button.
These steps will enable you to set up Level 1 Alert notification system and customize it. The 10.2.1 version of BlackBerry 10 OS was released in January, 2014. Now you can increase the utility of this latest version by setting up your own Level 1 Alert notification system.
