Have you ever played DOOM? This iconic video game was quite a rage in the 90s. A trend-setter, it inspired the creation of countless shooter games.

DOOM was developed by id software. New versions of the game are available now and they are simply awesome. However, video game enthusiasts who grew up playing the classic DOOM still play it. Most of the time, they use source ports. While these ports improve some aspects of the game they maintain the original look and feel. Things you will need

• You should have one or more of the following DOOM games installed on your PC - The Ultimate Doom, DOOM II and / or Final DOOM.

The Review

The first screen that you get to see when you launch DoomGLES is the launch screen. Here you can choose which of the DOOM games you would like to run. You will also be able to configure game settings and visual options from here.

If you don’t have any of the DOOM games installed on your PC, your only option is to choose ‘Doom1.’ This will simply load the original DOOM. It has only one episode to play.

The developer of this port has improved the graphics quality of the game by making everything look three dimensional. It is still the original DOOM but its looks as good as Quake, the latest game developed by id Software. It plays incredibly well especially when you consider the fact that it is a mobile port for a game of this kind. And when you get used to the control, it will become a real treat on your BlackBerry.

Your character in the game DOOM is a space marine. Your task is to navigate your way through Martian moons invaded by demons. You have to kick the demons behind and find as many secret spots as you can. You will also have to exit each level alive. Along the way, you will find several locked areas. You will need key cards to open them.

This is not exactly a complex game but it is action-packed and will provide for hours of fun!
