Verizon didn’t promote the BlackBerry Storm2 like they did the Storm, but considering the various issues the Storm had this is understandable. The VerizonWireless YouTube account posted this rocking Storm2 commercial , very brief but straight to the point and it includes a video clip of the rock band Switchfoot. Good band :-) .

In case you missed it, earlier this week Verizon and RIM announced the Storm2 9550 and it went live on the Verizon website this morning.

Don’t forget to play with the interactive user guide or check out the features and specifications if you want to learn more about the Storm2 before buying it.

AT&T’s Facebook account posted some news about the BlackBerry Bold 9700 along with a link to a ShareATT YouTube video where Seth Bloom, an AT&T spokesman, does an unboxing and walkthrough of the Bold 9700.

A first look at the brand new Blackberry Bold 9700, which features a 624 MHz processor, 256 MB of Flash memory, a 3.2 megapixel camera and A-GPS to provide a faster location fix in support of AT&T Navigator with real-time traffic data. The new BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphone also features an re-designed, innovative touch-sensitive trackpad, Wi-Fi, tethering capability, increased battery life, and BlackBerry OS v5.0, which supports BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0.

It’s very exciting to see an official video of the Bold 9700. Here’s a recap of AT&T’s pricing for this device from their press release:

The BlackBerry Bold 9700 smartphone will be available in the coming weeks for $199.99 (pay $299.99 and receive $100 mail-in-rebate.) AT&T smartphones require the purchase of a monthly data plan. Other monthly charges apply.

Another of Salomondrin’s videos was uploaded to YouTube. In this video, Sal goes over how RIM is improving the BlackBerry Storm 2 (9520). He goes over two hardware improvements:

  • The older Storm 2 had light leaking out under the screen, the newer Storm 2 doesn’t
  • The screen’s “click” is improved (yes there is a big difference)

I”m sure many of you will be expecting the Storm 2 to be awesome compared to how the Storm 1 was when it launched. What do you think of these hardware improvements? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments, especially if you’re a current Storm 1 owner.

Official BlackBerry YouTube Channel Launched

blackberry youtube channel Official BlackBerry YouTube Channel Launched

RIM has just announced that they have officially launched their own YouTube channel at youtube.com/blackberry.

What will you find on YouTube.com/BlackBerry?

“How to” videos such as “How to Change Your Ringtone” and specific BlackBerry smartphone videos such as “How to take a picture with your BlackBerry Curve 8520”

Videos on development such as “How to Debug your Application on a Live Device” and “Get your Application Preloaded on the BlackBerry Smartphone”.

And, more to come in the future! We will be adding new videos regularly – so make sure you subscribe to the channel so you never miss a new video.

On more than one occasion I’ve searched YouTube for new BlackBerry commercials only to find that BlackBerry didn’t have their own channel. Hopefully they’ll also be including commercials and teaser videos in addition to their video guides.

Check it out at youtube.com/blackberry and let me know what you think!

BlackBerry Holds Its Breath Underwater For Over Two Minutes!

YouTuber phillipe80 accidentally dropped his BlackBerry into a lake, but it survived so he decided to test out exactly how long it would last underwater.

My BlackBerry felt into the lake and I thought it was broken. I called T-Mobile and the would pick it up the next day. However when I turned it on the next day it was alive and kickin! So I tried it again and after 2 minutes I gave up. The BlackBerry just didn’t wanna leave me…

Warning: This stunt was performed by someone who had a new BlackBerry already on the way. Don’t try this at home!

It would have been funny if he called it with another phone while it was underwater and it rang  . (Not that I’m suggesting someone try it)
