This Study Compares iPhone, Android and Blackberry Users: BBerry Lovers are the Biggest Earners |
It’s always fun to peer into the life of the average smartphone owner. Honestly, it doesn’t matter what platform the individual prefers or uses, it’s interesting to know how they use their device and live their life with tech. Thanks to a new study conducted by TalkTalk Mobile, and published at the DailyMail we can get a pretty good look at that information. The results are definitely comical, if not utterly hilarious.
It shows the separation between iPhone, Android and Blackberry users, right along with the lives they lead. You probably could have guessed this already –I’ll bet many of us could- but patterns emerged during the study which generalize the users of each platform. Some of the generalizations definitely seem cliché, which is part of the reason why it’s quite humorous.
Surprisingly –or unsurprisingly for Blackberry users- the BBerry population tends to be comprised of highly successful individuals, including those with plenty of money in their coffers. While this statement is way too broad, as Blackberry users come from all walks of life, it’s good to see that there’s a central tone of success for the platform. Thorsten Heins wasn’t kidding when he said Blackberry users wants to “succeed”.
According to the study, Blackberry owners earned the most money out of the three platforms. They also send more text messages and make more calls, probably important ones.
iPhone users on the other hand appear to be the most conceited, are very ambitious and travel quite often. In addition, they invest a lot of time, money and effort into looking their best and grooming themselves.
Android users are the most creative, and believe it or not are likely the most polite users out of the three groups. Unfortunately, they also have a reputation for drinking more alcohol than the other two groups, or at least they talk about it more.
The study actually revealed a lot more information than just that. Take a look:
BlackBerry Users
- Earn the most
- Industries: Finance, property and health
- Put in the least hours at work
- Make the most calls and send the most texts
- Have the most long term relationships
- Drink the most tea and coffee
- Are the most social
- Are the least punctual
- Eat out the most
- Have the most friends
- Characteristics: Loud, bubbly
iPhone Users
- Rate themselves most attractive.
- Most ambitious.
- Most successful.
- Hardest worker.
- Thinks their boss rates them highly.
- Industry: Media darlings.
- Work late the most- five times a month.
- Most active on social media.
- Most well-travelled.
- Spend the most on clothes and grooming each year.
- Characteristics: Confident, ambitious, daring, bright, flirty
Android Users
- Most creative.
- Best cooks.
- Most polite.
- Industries: Culture and sport
- Put in the longest hours at work
- Watch the most TV
- Drink the most
- Characteristics: Shy, quiet, relaxed, introvert, calm
What do you think of this information? Was the study pretty accurate or do you break the mold according to this information? I actually fit in with two categories: Android and Blackberry. What’s funny is- I have a mashup of characteristics from both user types, and that makes perfect sense since I’m not confined to one platform.
Personally, I find a lot of information about iPhone users comical, I have come across quite a few that are a little… well, pretentious.
