The Blackberry Z10 is finally available from T-Mobile today in the US! If you’re a T-Mo customer and you want the latest Blackberry 10 device, then hurry up and head to a local store!
T-Mobile has been busy rebranding themselves as the ‘Uncarrier,’ because they’re now offering devices to customers without requiring a two-year contract agreement. That also means we won’t see heavily subsidized prices from the carrier.
According to T-Mobile’s CEO John Legere, two year contracts are a “crock of shit”. He also called for his fellow competitors to “stop the bullshit,” in reference to the traditional tried-and-true contract model.
T-Mobile’s new contract-free plans went live today, as well.
With the T-Mobile Simple Choice Plan, you can pick up a Z10 with $99 down and $18 extra for 24 months, or you can buy the phone outright for $531.99. Keep in mind, if you purchase the phone outright you’re paying the full retail price for it.
Verizon is the only carrier left in the US to launch the Z10, and it will be happening in a few days. Verizon owners will be able to get their hands on the exclusive white variant of the Z10. I will add that the white version looks pretty damn slick too (I still love black better though). There are some reports of Verizon Wireless pre-orders already making their way through the shipping process.
To Hold You Over…
If you’re still waiting around to get your hands on a unit, be sure to check out my in-depth unboxing. Hopefully some of the images should be able to hold you over. My unboxing report was done with a Verizon branded Z10, by the way.
I also put together a superb beginner’s guide, highlighting some of the things that I did first, after turning on my device. I recommend reading that if you’re not familiar with the Blackberry 10 platform. Even if you have a Playbook, some of the stuff is relatively new.
If you discover that there are some apps you truly want, but they’re not available in Blackberry World you can head on over to our sideloading guide for a tutorial on sideloading Android apps. The process for doing so is not difficult at all, but it does require you to download various resources beforehand. It’s best to take advantage of sideloading when you’re near a laptop or desktop.
Check out my quick guide on snapping screenshots of your new Z10’s screen also! Chances are you’ll want to show off that sweet new wallpaper you just downloaded.
