BlackBerry and Samsung joined hands at the recently concluded BlackBerry Enterprise Event which was held in San Francisco. The aim of this partnership is to provide enhanced end-to-end security for Android users. This task will be completed with the help of effective security solutions currently offered by these global leaders, combined together to work as one. This collaboration definitely came as a surprise, but given the fact that both these companies work diligently to develop quality security solutions for its customers, it makes a lot of sense for them to join hands and work together in order to achieve bigger endeavours.

These days, security has become the top priority in the field of telecommunications and this particular move aims to develop security solutions that’ll be much more competent and versatile than what’s currently available in the market. So, by the end of this year or early next year, users of Android phones will be able to access an exceedingly secure mobility solution on their devices. This solution will employ BlackBerry’s cross-platform EMM solution, BES12 along with Samsung Galaxy’s security solution called Samsung KNOX.

There are very few options for organisations looking forward to do their business practices in a highly secured environment. A recent study showed that more than 75 percent people working in organisational set-ups agree that there’s a need to develop better mobility management strategies. This collaboration between BlackBerry and Samsung can be considered as an important step towards achieving this manoeuvre.

Samsung has brought KNOX to the table, creating Android devices that are capable of protecting crucial enterprise data with several layers of software as well as hardware based security solutions. Combine the power of KNOX with BlackBerry’s compelling cross-platform EMM security solution, BES12 and what you’ll get is a highly secured network environment.

BlackBerry and Samsung John Sims, President of Global Enterprise Services (GES), BlackBerry said that it is committed to deepen its relationship with Samsung in order to meet the ever-so-evolving needs of its customers. With this partnership, users will get to enjoy an integrated solution that includes the secure connectivity, effective data management and class-leading device and applications of a BlackBerry device along with the security features of a Samsung Galaxy.

Injong Rhee, Senior VP of KNOX Business Group, Samsung said that they hope to provide users with the most secure mobility solutions with the help of this collaboration. He also added that Samsung KNOX is determined to deliver highly secure mobility solutions to enterprises and now after joining hands with BES12, the company is all set to offer more options to its customers who need better levels of security for their Android devices.

Some of the key features this security solution will offer are listed below

  • Security threats will get eliminated but there will be minimum damage to device software and applications.
  • Enhanced corporate security and employee privacy due to complete segregation of personal data from business data.
  • Improved core security.
  • Enhanced user experience.

This new solution is expected to hit the markets early next year. We will get to know how much it costs, only after its official launch.
